Very Mindful Christmas

The holiday season can be fun but staying up late, eating loads of treats, and non-stop celebrations can mess with your sleep. No worries, though! Here’s how you can keep your chill and still enjoy all the festivities without turning into a sleep-deprived Grinch:

Snack Smarter

  • Love midnight snacks? Go for bananas, almonds, or a warm glass of milk instead of candy or sodas. These snacks help relax your body and make it easier to fall asleep

Keep Chill Time in Your Schedule

  • Between hanging out with friends and holiday activities, don’t forget to take a breather. Whether it’s listening to your favorite playlist, doodling, or doing a quick yoga stretch, these moments can help you reset before bed.

Make Your Room Sleep-Friendly

  • Bright lights from holiday decor outside or even your phone can make it harder to sleep. Use curtains, an eye mask, or just dim your screens before bed. A tidy, cosy room also helps your brain relax

Stay Active

  • Burn off that holiday energy! A winter walk, some dancing, or even helping with decorations can tire you out in a good way. Physical activity earlier in the day helps you sleep better at night

Party Smart

  • If you’re at a holiday party, enjoy sugary drinks or desserts early, not right before bed. And if you’re drinking coffee to stay up, switch to a decaf option later in the day.

Holidays are all about good vibes and making memories, so why not make great sleep part of the mix? Rested teens = more energy to enjoy the fun! For more tips, check out The Sleep Charity
